TAGGED!

I've been tagged so enjoy!!!
Five things I was doing 10 years ago:

(Yes I was about 14-15 in this photo...and a pretty big tomboy)

1. So I was 15...I met and started dating my husband at the end of my 15th year!!

2. I also dated my first "real" boyfriend at the beginning of my 15th year...Matt.

3. I was enjoying playing every school sport girls could play (well, softball, basketball, & volleyball)

4. I had a lot of fun going to church mutual activities and looked so forward to the combined young men/young women activities! I also LOVED church dances.

5. I started getting into snowboarding around this time and so I hung up my skiis and never looked back! I was in a cast for a few weeks after my first boarding trip!!

Five things on my "to do list" today:

1. Well I would vaccuum the house...but I'll have to use my Carpet Flik and see how well it works...yesterday I started vaccuming but stepped on the taped cord (from the dog chewing it) and it shocked and burned the bottom of my foot...and my husband needs more electrical tape to fix it this evening, it HURT!!!)

2. Shower (it's 9:45 a.m. but I've been folding laundry and straightening up all morning so give me a break!!)

3. Wash Dishes (I wish I had a dishwasher SOOO bad)

4. Get the desk organized, as well as the stuff for a garage sale that's piling up in the dining room!

5. Take a nap while Cayden is taking his!!! (Good luck with that...lately I can't sleep at night hardly at all from being pregnant, and my naps always get interrupted by SOMETHING. This time the phone is getting left off the hook!!!)

Five things I would do if I were a millionaire:

1. Pay off what's left of a student loan, as well as any other debt

2. Buy an SUV for me, and a nice big truck for Tyler

3. Buy a 4-5 bedroom house w/some new furniture

4. Buy new clothes for family (mine and extended family)

5. Find a couple good causes to donate to

Five things I will never wear again:
(Definitely won't be wearing an outfit like this again!! I was 9, Stacy was 6)

1. Spumoni outfits...haha, those were those cute outfits with raised graphics on them, like kittens, etc that I wore in grade school

2. Big bows in my hair...something my mom made sure I was ALWAYS wearing...and I've been slacking at having big bows for Shaylee...but if this new baby is a girl she'll get tortured the same as me, out of love of course, as well as because big bows really are cute :-)

3. Clothes that don't cover garments!?! (of course that was never a problem since my mom raised us to wear modest clothes from the beginning!!)

4. 3+ inch heels?? Being a mom they just aren't that practical...but I would like some new 2-2.5 inch heels to wear out, I've gotten a little too used to tennis shoes or platform shoes!!

5. Probably white pants?? Being a mom and having a pet, I have to be extra careful when I wear khakis...so white pants don't sound appealing. I had a pair of white jeans in 4th grade that I LOVED but I ALWAYS came home with a stain on them...one day I came home with mud down my whole leg from playing tag, haha!

Five of my favorite toys:

1. Computer

2. Digital Camera...ours is practically a dinosaur now though!

3. Bosch Mixer & my Crockpot!!!

4. My Bike

5. My crochet stuff

Five (or six) people to tag:

1. Alicia & Moe

2. Kylee

3. Lisa

*Sorry guys if you've already been tagged...I didn't check before putting names

" ? GIRL "

The title says it all. Today my little family went to the Doctor with me for my Ultrasound. The baby wasn't moving much and was being way too modest for our liking!! We couldn't find anything to prove it was a boy, so we are going with "? GIRL", which is what the Doc put on the picture of the Ultrasound. Now some of you already know, but with my son, they had said "Well there's nothing flapping in the wind, it's a girl!" yet much to our surprise it was a boy come my labor day!! Sooooo...now it is just a wee bit frustrating that we get a "? GIRL". My two older sisters recently found out that they are having girls, and I've felt from the beginning of this pregnancy that it's a girl, but now to know for certain, we'll have to wait 8 more weeks when they do the 3-D Ultrasound. (I figure if they can't tell from a 3-D picture, we've got a problem!) I'm still assuming it's a girl though, and when I buy outfits, they will be ruffly (and I will keep the receipts just in case)!!! After calling my mom and sisters, my sister Tami let me know that I should drink juice (because of the sugar) to get the baby moving. That info is better late than never, so I'll make sure I do that right before the next ultrasound!!! If I had a reliable scanner I would put the ultrasound pics up...maybe when I'm really bored I'll take digital pics of them to get them posted!?
I think my son is a little upset that he may not be getting his "Superman baby boy"...I think he'll get over it when the baby is born though. He loves to look at babies. Tyler thought it would be a boy and I said a girl, so we made a friendly wager on it. :-) Whoever is right, gets an extra $400 from February's tax return to themself!! So far I'm winning...hahahahaha!!! If at the next ultrasound they say it's a girl, he'll probably accuse me of bribing the Doc. Eh, he can't admit when he's wrong :-)

Life is Good

I guess it's about time for a new entry on here huh?!? So many good things have been happening in my life lately that make me so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who blesses our little family daily. Yesterday we listened to our little 17 week old bun-in-the-oven's heartbeat (don't ask why it took so long for us to get to do that!!). Shaylee had to be in school that day, but Tyler, Cayden and I sat in the Doctor's office and listened to that strong beat go "Woo, Woo, Woo". As I watched Tyler's eyes get red and teary as we listened, I realized that there really isn't a better sound than that. There are many sounds that compare, but I'd have to say that little "Woo, Woo, Woo" is the best. It just makes me realize more how important being a parent, a good parent, is to these little Spirits that the Lord sends down to us.

(Here is a picture of my husband as a baby!!)

At church on Sunday, I watched as my husband got to help pass the Sacrament. He hasn't been able to do that in YEARS, and the last time I watched him do that was back when we were in the same ward, and dating in high school. You don't really realize how much you've missed something, until it is denied to you, and then you get it back. I think that applies to a LOT of things in life.

A few days ago, my Aunt Orlene McConkie & Uncle George called and said they were driving through Texas and hoped to stop by our house and meet my husband and kids! I was floating on air that night, and the next day, with excitement. We fed them a late dinner and we spent probably an hour talking as they got to know Tyler. I never realized how much my Uncle George reminds me of my Dad. He is my dad's only brother, and they have the same face (however my uncle is very tall!). I didn't want them to leave. I could feel my dad through my Uncle George and although I feel my dad at many times, I still wanted him and my aunt to stay. I cried when they left. Here I go again, crying. No it doesn't help that I'm pregnant and probably a little extra emotional. Then today I read Cassidy's blog about getting to go home for Christmas. It made me very homesick, and I realized that I just really want to move closer to family. We may end up moving to Idaho near the beginning of the year, but even that is hard to wait for. I miss being close to family, and with Christmas fast approaching, and missing my dad even more this year than last...
(Here is one of the MANY fun pics of my dad. Here he is next to his mom, my Grandma McConkie. She passed away shortly after him.)

Now my happy blog has turned into a kind of sad blog. Let me try to make it a little happier. Last night we went to the ward trunk-or-treat. I'm definitely glad the church does these because we always have a lot of fun at them. Shaylee was a Geisha...however after watching "Memoirs of a Geisha", I'm not so sure it's something little girls should dress up as, but it was cute for tonight. Cayden was the cutest Superman there! (I may be a little partial though!) The cape Cayden is wearing was recently sent to him by Grandma McConkie. It has the Batman symbol on the other side...so he was SOOOO excited when he got it!! He is a major fan of all of the Superheroes!

Now to all of my friends who read my blog...I will try to repent and update this blog more often, and I enjoy reading all of your blogs very much, and especially seeing pictures, so keep up the good work!! (yes that was a very bad run-on sentence, but I don't think I have to tell any of you that I'm not perfect, hahaha!!)

Sleep, Pizza, and Nightmares

Don't the experts say that when you are dreaming, you aren't in the deep sleep that gives you the rest you need? I could be wrong, but I believe that's what they say. Ever since I became pregnant again, I've had the most impossible time sleeping. I wake up about 3-4 different times in the middle of the night, for no apparant reason (well of course sometimes it's for the pregnant nightly potty break...but the other times I can't account for). Lately I've also been having tons of nightmares. Now when I was pregnant with Cayden, I used to dream and have some nightmares, but not as many as I've been having lately. One night I dreamt about this HUGE snake that was trying to catch me, and another night it was about some people I know getting into a car accident. Three nights ago, I had a dream that while I was pregnant, I got a huge tummy tattoo (then I sat around with Nicole Richie and asked her if you are supposed to avoid tattoos while pregnant)!!! It was a psychotic dream all around. Not only do I not have any intentions of getting a tattoo, but I KNOW you aren't supposed to get one while pregnant, not to mention, who gets a tattoo on their STOMACH??? You'd be looking to have that thing all deformed by the time you'd had a few kids, from it stretching out....then shrinking...etc. My husband thought it was a pretty amusing dream though :-)
Two nights ago something was different though. Tyler and I ordered a Dippin Strips pizza around 9 p.m. while we played golf on our play station (that's our favorite game). Somehow I managed to match Tyler by eating my entire half of the pizza (he gets his w/out cheese...weird I know). I never can eat that much pizza...so I was actually slightly proud of myself, although you really shouldn't be proud of yourself for eating badly!? Anyway...I was so full but it felt good, and that night I slept through the ENTIRE night. I didn't wake up until the alarm clock went off!!! So...I'm wondering if it was because my tummy was so full so the baby was happy??? Maybe I wake up in the middle of the night because I don't put enough in my tummy before bed?? I find that hard to believe because Tyler and I are big late-night snackers. Pizza is such a comfort food though....mmmmm I love it.
Anyway...that was a big post about nothing, but any insight would be great. I don't think it's a good idea for me to be eating half a pizza every night just so I sleep better, HAHAHA...I mean, not if I don't want to gain 100 lbs during this pregnancy, and have a baby that's unhealthy and addicted to pizza!!!!!!!!

Back to School!

Today is the first day of school!! Shaylee has had her outfit picked out for DAYS and was SO excited to finally wear it. She has lots of her old friends from Kindergarten in her 1st grade class this year, so she seemed pretty excited. I kept asking her if she was nervous so that I could tell her it is okay to be nervous, but she kept answering that she was fine. Finally she said she wanted me to stay for a couple more minutes, but not all day!! That made me feel better, because even though she's been in school before, it's still kind of hard to leave her there with a new teacher.
Tyler and I were talking about when we were in school....we both used to set out our ENTIRE outfit either on the end of our bed, or hung on the dresser like there was a person standing there. We would even put our shoes and socks under the clothes, and I would hang my necklace on the hanger with my shirt!! (Ya maybe we were weird, or maybe people just don't want to admit they did this too :-)
This morning I also found myself with quite a bit more energy, and I contribute that to school starting. Remember in school when you were so pumped the first day? I was always determined to make sure I tried harder in my studies, but of course you had butterflies about seeing people you may not have seen all summer! I think I still somewhat get that feeling, but instead, I get a rush of energy to get done all the things I've been procrastinating on...like certain household chores, or my crocheting, etc. This morning I had to pick up a couple more last minute school supplies, and then I came home and ran around the house cleaning with all this extra energy that I've been lacking. I can tell that Cayden already likes the extra time he gets to have alone with me too, because I'm able to spend more time playing trains just with him!! Shaylee gets so bored at home (she is a VERY busy girl...and very smart) so it is very good for her to be back in school and get loads of socialization! Luckily she's always been a good student too!! This year though, somehow she got in the same class as another LDS boy that we know...who is very distracting...and go figure, she ends up being sat right next to him. I warned the teacher that the boy likes Shaylee a bit too much (he calls her his girlfriend!!)...but I may have to have a better conversation with the teacher after school...because I don't want her being distracted when she's been a perfect student so far (atleast that's what her teachers have always told me!!!) Anyway...it's nice for school to be back in session!!!!!!!!!!

Summer and Pregnancy!

Where does the Summer go? School for Shaylee starts back up on Monday and she will be in 1st grade! That means earlier mornings and trying to get Shaylee's slow-motion body up and ready for school!! I'm glad to have school starting again though. Shaylee goes stir-crazy during the summer and needs every challenge school can give her. She's going to be 7 in a couple of months so I'm going to start giving her piano lessons, I just need to buy some books! I was 7 when I started...but unfortunately we don't have a piano yet. My keyboard should work for now.
I am officially 8 and a half weeks pregnant now! I already feel it's going to be a girl, partly because how completely different my morning sickness has been this time around!! We've been worried about if I'd be able to carry this one, so we're so happy to be past 7 weeks, and can't wait to be through the 1st trimester. We weren't planning on quite this big of an age gap, but the Lord works in his own time and after so much praying we are just so grateful!!
Well right now I'm debating whether to do the dishes (not very tempting when you don't have a dishwasher at the moment) , and watching the rest of Goonies with my kids while crocheting (Cayden loves the end when Sloth pulls off his shirt to reveal a SUPERMAN shirt underneath)!! Hmmm, my husband won't be home for a couple more hours...and as he sometimes says...why do now what you can do later?? Ya I know, a terrible saying to live by, but it works for right now!!

Summer Vacation

Here are some pictures of a trip that me and the kids took in June. Somehow we survived the trip!! Tyler had to stay and work so me and the kids packed up the car and drove from Texas to Washington!! It took us 3 days to get to Moses Lake. Luckily we were able to stop each day after driving anywhere between 8-10 hours...because I'm fortunate to have so many sisters and they all lived in perfect distances to where we were able to visit each of them on the way up to Moses and spend the night!! (Shaylee is 6 and Cayden is 2...they did really well though!)

Before leaving Moses Lake, the trip wouldn't have been complete without stopping at the pet store and bringing home a PET!! When my little sister Nicole and I saw this puppy, I fell in love. I text messaged a picture of the puppy to my husband and he loved it too so it made the LONG trip back with us. Her name is Missy, she is 3/4 boxer, 1/4 lab and is an extremely active puppy and it's just been a blast house-training her, haha. When we brought her to her new home, she took up residence in Cayden's booster chair. She is now already about twice as big as she was in these pictures so she doesn't sleep in it anymore...she hogs our bed at night instead!!

Shaylee is soaking up the sun at the Aquatic Center

Cayden isn't too sure about the new puppy yet!

Shaylee on the other hand, is CRAZY about the pup!

Missy's "throne"

Cayden and his "wheels"...he wasn't falling, just stopping in style!!
I challenged my sister to Dance Revolution but we didn't have enough coins soooo...I ended up looking like a goober doing it all by myself!!
Go Grandma!! Shaylee and her Aunt Nicole are watching the pro!
I'm giving my son a few pointers

We visited my dad's new headstone on Father's Day
